Well, here we are already halfway through the 1st month of the new year. I think in many respects it is going to be an interesting year.
As for starters I have started a Photoshop course, whilst I have been using the software for a number of years it continues to grow in features. The first session was interesting, and I have already learnt about some new techniques to help improve my photo editing, so I am looking forward to the future sessions.
Photography still plays a big part in my life, and AV making also. The Helderberg club has a very active AV section, and I am also very pleased to see that AVMakersSA is showing a lot of interest in the subject. For those of you that are not familiar with AV’s this stand for Audio Visual presentations which consist of images and sound along with titles and transition effects. To me they are a great way of creating memories. There are a number of international competitions one can enter if one so wishes.
The other subject that has recently come to the fore front is AI -artificial intelligence – I am sure that a number of you have started to experience it, as well as using it. I would be very interested to hear from you about your experiences in using AI.I have had some interesting conversations on the subject and am still a little confused as to how it actually works.
Here in Cape Town, we are enjoying our summer months with some great weather and some very hot days, by which I mean in the mid to high 30’s -Thats Celsius, it is on these occasions that I say thank goodness for air conditioning.
To conclude I wish everyone of you a great and happy 2026.
