Well, here we are nearly half the year gone, and to be honest I am not sure where it went.
We have I suppose an interesting year so far thanks to Mr. Trump. The war against Iran seems to have affected a large proportion of the world. I know from our side the main feature is the increase in both petrol and diesel, I was reading an article a few days ago where they were say that some petrol stations have suffered as much as a 40% loss in business. On the negative side local taxi fares have increased and this of course effects a large majority of our local population, which will I am sure eventually will be a factor for employers to address.
Cape Town seems to be one of the few towns in South Africa that has a very positive approach to the future. Again, this is on the public transport side, with a better and more efficient train network along with additional bus service to a number of new areas where previously that had nothing.
As far as I am concerned life goes on and in my mature years it is very interesting on occasions just to sit back and enjoy life.
Talking of enjoying things both my photography and lawns bowls have been keeping me busy, So please check out the Photography page and the bowls page to find out more.
As I am sure a lot of you will realize that we are on the verge of winter, we have already had one very bad storm couple of weekends ago, which created a lot of damage both in flooding and damage to buildings and vegetation. Anyway, it is great to sit by the log fire and enjoy a glass of wine, red of course.
What I do find very interesting is that there is a segment of the population that is still, prepared to offer service. I found a new guy to service my car, who did a great job as well as returning me home and then collecting me when the car was ready. Another company was Clean a Blind who not only repaired my blinds but were speedy in the repair as well as being very competitive in their pricing. On the other side there are people who advertise and whilst they answer your phone call nothing much else happens. It never ends
